Owen's Second Birthday

Happy Birthday Owen!

On the day before his Birthday we had the neighbors over for some yummy cupcakes!  He was so excited to blow out his candle,  he blew it out before we finished singing to him.  He knows exactly how birthdays work,  he can even sing most of "the birthday song" all by himself.  What a cutie!!

Of course the best part of blue food is showing off what color your tongue is after...I just love kids!!

Owen sure had a "super" birthday.  He got Superman Pajamas (with a cap, naturally) and insisted on wearing them as soon as he opened.  That is the great thing about being Two I guess... He was so lucky on his birthday, he got some really wonderful gifts.  Lots of cars, clothes, things that make noise and a few educational puzzles and games.  What a lucky kid!  Thank you Grandmas and Grandpas!!!

He sure has gotten big and smart over the last two years!  We love him so very much!  He sure doesn't seem like much of a baby any more.... Time really goes too quickly!

Prague Trip

This weekend I was able to have a little get a way.  Four friends from church and I took a weekend trip to Prague.  It was so much fun. 

Prague is an absolutely beautiful city, filled with breathtaking architecture and so much history.

While we were there we enjoyed some fabulous food and drank some really wonderful beers.

We did plenty of shopping for garnets and amber.  There were so many pieces of jewelry that I would have loved to have taken home.

The best part by far was the time spent with friends,  we had wonderful conversations and had many laughs.

Owen's First Haircut

OWEN GOT A HAIRCUT!

I cannot believe that our baby is big enough to have a haircut.  It was so tough to accept that it was time... But Mama had to cut the curls...  Well, actually our neighbor Dorthea cut it.  She does my hair too, so I knew she could be trusted with such an important job.  We were so lucky to have her come over and cut little man's hair.  He did great!  He knew something was happening to his hair, but he kept working on his drawing.  He didn't fuss a bit, or wiggle or cry.   When she was done, we had him look in the mirror.  He wasn't too happy,, he made a great big pouty face and wanted a hug.  (so did Mama..)

It is going to take some time to get used to his new look, but I think he still looks incredibly cute!

Katie's Birthday Party

Happy Birthday Katie!

Friday Katie had a few of her friends over to celebrate her Eighth Birthday.  We sure had some fun!  We had Pizza, sang with the Wii, danced, tossed streamers everywhere!  ran around and ate lots of cake and ice cream.  It was so nice to have her friends over to celebrate.  They were all so good.  It was so nice to see what good friends Katie has!  It got a little loud at times... but that was just part of the fun! She blew out all the candles in one great big poof!  Her wish will certainly come true!

Happy Birthday Princess!

Can you believe our little princess is eight?

She is turning into quite a lady.  

We are so proud of her, she is kind and smart and works so hard.  

Katie had a great time celebrating with her classmates and teacher today at school.  After ballet, we had her choice of dinner - spaghetti and salad, though she didn't want a salad when it came time to eat.  She wanted to save room for cake! ;) 

She received so many great gifts.  She got a sleeping bag, some dress shoes, a robe, a new webkins.  She also got lots of money to put toward her new American Girl doll!

Read Across America Day

Happy Birthday Dr Seuss!

We went to the school to celebrate Read Across America Day, and Dr. Seuss' Birthday.  We had so much fun!  The kids fished for Red Fish and Blue Fish, ate green eggs and ham and went on a book walk.  We had a good time celebrating reading and came home with bookmarks, balloons,  and lots of good books!  "It's fun to have fun,  but you have to know how!"
